CHUCK HARDING 1967 - 1986 STATION AGENT, SENIOR STATION AGENT MKC STL LBF SMF EUG SLC SNA SAN PERSONNEL CHANGES Chuck Harding from station agent to senior station agent STL In the May Jun 1970 Arrow-Jet news -Jake Lamkins (5/19/06) I am forwarding what little info I rec'd from the family of Chuck Harding. Should I get any other info I will send it to you. -Loren Holmgren (12/25/06) Email to Chuck's sister, BB Harding: Subject: Condolences to you and your family in the loss of Chuck Thank you so much for letting me know of Chuck's passing. We worked together in San Diego , but kept in touch at Christmas with a card and note to one another. I belong to what is called the "Old Frontier Employees Club", and we keep up on the lives of our fellow workers. One of the things that is important to us is letting the other employees know when one of us has "Gone West". I will let our group know about Chuck, but would like to get just a bit on information on his time with Frontier. I know he worked in St.Louis, Orange County & San Diego, but it is possible he worked other cities also. Would you be so kind as to send me his obituary and a short note of his approximate hire date and the various cities he worked? If you would like to look at this news letter, you can do so on the website: http://FAL-1.tripod.com Sincerely, -Loren J. Holmgren (12/23/06) Thank you for taking time to send your email and your condolences. I will pass them on to the family. As for the “Gone West” article, I have seen the magazine (I am getting his mail) and am aware of what you are talking about. Thank you for your willingness to get an article included for him. I have to say that you are asking questions that I don’t know the answer to. Let me ask our Mom if she remembers any details, and I’ll get back to you. I think he started around 1968 and I want to say that he worked with Frontier until they reorganized – is that the mid to late 80’s? I also believe that he was in Utah and the Dakotas . After all of these years, I really don’t remember. You can get his obituary, such as it is, electronically at the following website. As you might notice, Mom is known for her succinctness. http://obit.mcwanefamily.com/obit_display.cgi?id=333055&clientid=mcwanefamily&listing=Found Again, my thanks. And a Merry Christmas to you. -BB Harding (12/24/06) Thank you, Loren, for sending the info on Chuck. I worked with him in STL 1968-70. His seniority date was 11/16/67. -Jake Lamkins (12/25/06) Posted at the FL Club: Chuck Harding died Aug 10, 2006 He was a station agent/ senior station agent at STL SNA SAN. Thanks to Loren Holmgren for alerting me to his death. Chuck's obituary is at http://obit.mcwanefamily.com/obit_display.cgi?id=333055&clientid=mcwanefamily&listing=Found -Jake Lamkins (12/26/06) Chuck also worked for FL in MKC and SLC. I worked with Chuck Harding in 1967 in MKC when I started. I don't remember when Chuck came to SLC but it may have been as a SSA. -Paul Farris (12/26/06) Sorry to see Chuck Harding make the list on the FL website. When Gary Pinson, my brother, and myself were burned out of our condo in SLC back in 74 he was the first to jump in to help. -Ron Abfalter (1/15/07) Chuck Harding & I hired on with FL the same day, November 16, 1967. I always held seniority on him because I was older. I worked with him in MKC and later in STL. We remained friends through the years and our family often visited him when he was working at other stations and he often visited us as well. The following are the stations at which he worked: MKC, STL, LBF, SMF, EUG, SLC, SNA, and finally SAN. In recent years we had not communicated as often, having last heard from him last year at Christmas. -Roy Schreder (2/5/07)
