PATT MCDONALD PILOT DFW DEN Just received word that Patt is in/going to Baylor Hospital in DAL. Spoke with Debbie, his wife, and she said he's been diagnosed as havinghepatitis C, possibly from all the blood transfusions years ago when he had cancer. She's upset as today is their 20th wedding anniversary, and she said he needs a liver transplant, and is going to go onto the transplant list. Keep him on your mind and in our prayers. He was one of the best. -Clyde Hart (9/23/05) Bill Blackmon sent a note with some tough news about Patt McDonald. He is now fighting a new battle which has put him on the list for a liver transplant. Likely, this is from hepatitis C suspected to have resulted from blood transfusions during his earlier successful cancer battle. I just spoke with Patt and his spirits are high. Patt certainly is an amazing guy. I am sure he would appreciate some contact from you. Patt McDonald passed away this morning. This is from his son Keth. The family hasn't made arrangements yet. I will let you know. -Jim Ford (11/9/06) In case you haven't heard... Pat was a first class individual. It was recently that I had a nice visit with him via the phone. So, the news of his passing was a shock, although he has been battleing cancer for a while. This was his second go around too. When I was diagnosed with cancer 8 years ago, it was Pat McDonald and Don Miracle along with Cheryl who talked me into going to MD Anderson Cancer Clinic in Houston. Thanks to them I was one of the lucky ones and it was caught early enough. Pat McDonald was an unforgettable fellow and someone I will never forget. Blue Skies & Tailwinds... The family would like for the memorial to be an open discussion about Patt. If anyone would like to share a story or remembrance about Patt, it will be appreciated. -Weldon Finney (11/12/06) I had just learned of Patt's passing, yesterday, from Jim Burman, who I occasionally shoot trap with, here in Montana. As per Patt's family's request, I do have a couple of stories to relate, to whomever. Back in the latter '80s, early '90s, Patt, others, and I shared a "Crash Pad" in Elizabeth, N.J.; a very memorable, and pleasant experience of itself, notwithstanding the gruelling experience, of being domiciled in EWR, that most of us "Frontier types" bore up to. There is one story in particular about our, Patt and I, common/mutual attitude/thinking toward "Jessica vs. John." However, it may not be appropriate in that the story involves 'personallities' that are somewhat deemed unprofessional, if you will. And, there probably are other stories, as well. I regret that I am unable to attend services for Patt, although prayers are extended, even now. -Marv(in) R. Larson, Capt. FAL 7/5/'67 - 10/??/'86, Capt. CAL 11/??/86 - 06/24/'01 Ret.
