GARY MCCARREL 1959 - 1986 STATION AGENT, SENIOR STATION AGENT HSI RIW JAC DEN SLC Hi Jake, I had my first look at the FRONTIER NEWS (Spring 2002) yesterday and seeing all of those names brings back lots of memories. Im enclosing money for the 4 isus from 2001, this years subscription and hopefully enough to mail the past issues. I joined Frontier Feb. 21, 1959 and worked in HSI RIW DEN and finished in SLC. After FL I joined WA then DL for 11 years and retired in 1997. I should report the passing of 3 of my close friends at Frontier. They are Harold Long, age 70, sr. agent RIW, Carl Henderson, manager RIW, age 82 and Al (Sparky) Carlson, agent at SLC, age 65. Harold in April 2002, Carl and Al in May 2002. Sorry I dont have the obits. Norma and I live in Bountiful, Utah and look forward to hearing from some old friends from around the system. Thanks for your efforts and the FRONTIER NEWS. -Gary McCarrel (7/15/02) I Recieved the back issues of Frontier News and I appreciate it very much. I worked with Covington at DL but I havent talked to him since I retired in 97 but I know he retired in Nov of 2001, I have called all the ex FL people and no one has his fone number but I will track him down , he needs to know about the newsletter. Billy Roberts, I have lost track of but Stan will know where he is at. I think the biggest shock to me has been so many of our friends going west. I spent a lot of time with Stan in JAC even after I worked there in 75. Keep things held together and I will be in touch -Gary McCarrel (7/26/02) I Remember When: By Duane Phelps 1949-1985 (36 years) Hired 6/49 Stn. Agt. Alamosa for $150 per mo.,6 day wk,8 hr. shifts. It's our connection to the good old days. As you know Gary left us in May. He loved his years with Frontier and looked forward to each issue of the News. Working for Frontier was not like "work" but more of a daily social gathering. Our oldest grandson just started flying for Northwest but I'm afraid he'll never experience what you guys did. You're doing a good job and a great service. Thanks, -Norma McCarrel (10/8/07) Gary McCarrel transfered from Riverton to SLC with me in 1964. He was probably one of the top senior agents in the Company. I hated to see his passing couple years ago. -Duane Phelps (5/26/11)
