Believe he came from Eastern Airlines. Ken Schultz may have documentation on this. Hope this is of some help. -Jim Taylor (10/20/02) I contacted the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, and they provided the information that Bill died October 5, 2002, in Brush, Colorado at the Sunset Manor Home, and was cremated. Thanks, -Sharon Schlotthauer (5/14/07) Thanks for the great photo. I'll update Bill's webpage to incorporate it. -Jake Lamkins (5/14/07) Bill came to Frontier from John Fluke Manufactoring in Everett, Washington. They made Electornic Test Equipment and he was a Supervisor there for 5 years. He spent 6 years in the Air Force Reserve in WA. Prior to that Bill worked for United Airlines in San Francisco for 5 years while attending Chabot Jr. College in Hayward, Calif., studying electronics on the G.I. Bill after 10 years in the Air Force. Upon graduating from Chabot, we moved the family to Alderwood Manor, WA for Bill to work with Boeing and be closer to our families. Laid off after only 9 months he then found work in electronics and we remained in Seattle area from 1960 through 77. During this time Bill aquired his A&P license. In 1977 Bill saw an ad for foreman in Denver with Frontier Airlines. He was anxious to return to the airline field and we liked Denver from past visits. So we moved. While in Denver Bill continued to educate him self by attending Metro part time in Avation Management. After Frontier he was still with the group that took over for Continental and was with them 2 years before completing his B.A. degree and being hired by United Parcel Service. Bill and his son Paul both graduated from Metro in 1988. At UPS in Louisville, KY he first was a phone maintenance provider to aircraft anywhere in the system. Then he was chosen to help start up the installation of the glass cockpit on the 727's UPS had purchased and we spent 9 mo. in San Antonio, Texas. He then was called back to Louisville to be a Vendors Rep. for electronic companies that UPS worked with and traveled to their shops on a regular bases. Last he applied for a teaching position of electronics and was transfered to UPS schooling and taught for 4 years electronics on the 727 and DC8s. During his time in Louisville, Ky. he learned to build and fly remote airplanes. Back in Denver he had gotten his H.A.M. Radio license call sign KQOU. Born in Visallia, Calif, married in Canby, Oregon, died Bursh, Colorado in one of the states best Alzheimer's nursing homes. He was given love and care there that I could no longer provide in the home. I have led an Alxheimer's support group for spouses and family members for 9 years now. It is a most worthy cause to support because we have no answers and each day as we age more and more of us will be attacked by this disease and it sneaks up on the family. -Sharon Schlotthauer (5/17/07)
